Jamaica minister of tourism, Edmund Bartlett, has revealed the Caribbean island saw record arrivals and earnings for the period December 21st-24th. Preliminary airport arrivals stood at 34,081, an increase of 12.8 per cent over the corresponding festive period in 2017. The United Nations World Tourism Organisation, together with the European Travel Commission, has launched a new report on health tourism. Part of their joint research programme, the study is the first attempt to set a coherent conceptualisation of health tourism and define the motivations behind travellers looking for health-related services.
